The 7" figure of Cale Makar by McFarlane is a highly detailed depiction of one of the most dominant defencemen in modern NHL history. Makar made his playoff debut in 2019 and scored in his very first game — just a few days after winning the Hobey Baker Award.

In 2020, he won the Calder Trophy, and in the 2021–22 season he had a historic year with 28 goals and 86 points, during which he won the Norris Trophy, lifted the Stanley Cup and was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP. He became the first player in history to win all three honours.

Makar holds numerous Avalanche/Nordiques records for goals and points by a defenceman and became the fastest defenceman in history to reach 200 points. He is a four-time Norris Trophy finalist. In the 2024–25 season, he became the ninth defenceman in NHL history to score 30 goals and the first since 2009; at the same time, he was the first defenceman since the early 1990s to record a second consecutive 90-point season, earning his second Norris Trophy.

Drafted fourth overall in 2017, he is regarded as one of the most dynamic and complete defencemen in NHL history.
