Montreal Canadiens is one of the oldest and most successful teams in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL), but it uses the French abbreviation LNH (Ligue Nationale de Hockey). Founded in 1909, the Canadiens, often called the "Habs", are the longest-running professional hockey team in the world. The team boasts 24 Stanley Cup titles, the most of any team in the NHL. The Canadiens are known for their rich history and strong hockey culture. The team’s home arena is Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, where every game is famous for its electric atmosphere. Montreal Canadiens are not only symbols of the city of Montreal, but also of Canadian hockey as a whole.
